I did this a few years ago, and it was tough since I had grown-up obligations to deal with as well as watching and writing about a Christmas movie every day for 12 days. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but it was not as easy/fun as I had hoped. I got to watch/rewatch some of my favorite movies (Die Hard, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), but time was an issue. There were a few days when I called an audible and did a different movie than planned.
This year….Well, I find myself with lots of time to spare as I am still recovering from my surgery. I am stuck at my parents' house, and there is not a ton I can do besides sit on the couch. At my new nephew’s father's suggestion, I decided to do the 12 Days of Christmas Movies again.
Having just watched my first Hallmark Christmas movie, I toyed with the idea of watching the new movies on various streaming services. There are a few I might still watch just for fun, but they are not part of this. What I landed on was a few movies I have seen and a few I have not. In two cases, it has been years since I last watched the movie in question.
12 Days of Christmas Movies
Maricle on 34th Street (1994)
A Muppet Christmas Carol
Home Alone
It's A Wonderful Life
Nightmare Before Christmas
The Santa Clause
Scrooged
White Christmas
A Boy Named Christmas
Jingle All The Way
Christmas Vacation
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
There are no set dates for any of these except for “It’s A Wonderful Life.” I am hoping to watch that with the family on the last day, Christmas Day.
I’ll see you all tomorrow with a review of Frankenstein AND the first Christmas movie.
